Matthew Krekeler
Welcome to Girl Dad Nation in this bonus episode relatable tok dad Brendan guy with the handle @brendenandellie shares his top three must have baby items.

00:00:23:06 - 00:00:24:08
Matthew Krekeler
Brendan welcome back.

00:00:25:10 - 00:00:26:13
Brenden Guy
I'm glad to be back.

00:00:27:07 - 00:00:33:05
Matthew Krekeler
Now I wanted to ask you, what are your top three must have baby items.

00:00:34:16 - 00:01:05:16
Brenden Guy
Okay. Number one, if you're child is formula fed. The AI baby is called the baby brezza. It's a machine. Don't ask me how it works, but machine dispenses formula with the water at the right temperature or adjustment of temperatures for any ounce from 2 to 10 ounces. And what we need to do is you put water in the box for the formula on the top.

00:01:05:18 - 00:01:33:12
Brenden Guy
You put the right setting, the particular form of formula that you're using, and boom, you select your ounces and you press the and outcomes. Ready, ready, mixed and ready to hit it is I tell you, it is a life saver. It saves you haven't say, you know, boil water and then get the right mix and mixing, you know and you know anything with formula is of course is you can do two ounces and four ounces, but to get the three ounces is very difficult.

00:01:34:02 - 00:01:36:17
Brenden Guy
Yeah. And so that's the number one.

00:01:36:17 - 00:01:38:23
Matthew Krekeler
Cause it sounds like a cure for your baby.

00:01:39:09 - 00:02:06:19
Brenden Guy
Exactly. Yes. I think that's what people jokingly call that, the cure for baby. And so number two would be to always have as many hair ties and headbands and hair clips as as many as possible at all times in various locations because they disappear so quickly. Yeah. You know, one minute you're going to draw and you're pulling out a handful of them.

00:02:06:20 - 00:02:26:07
Brenden Guy
The next day there's like one in that. And it's always the wrong color for the outfit you've got or what have you. So that that is something that you really have to have as a as a as a dad, as a go dad that is, you know, should be hands on with, you know, making your daughter's hair.

00:02:27:02 - 00:02:35:17
Matthew Krekeler
Absolutely. Yeah. We have him in our car and in the diaper bag and like and I'll occasionally just throw some in my pocket when we're going to the places. Yeah.

00:02:36:01 - 00:02:57:11
Brenden Guy
Exactly. And you know, in little kids, there was a there was a time when Ali's my daughter Ali's friend was around two. I think it was around or maybe it'll be young a year and a half, two years old. He would just constantly pull them out of her hair. I mean, he just wanted to, you know, I know he saw that and he wanted to grab it like kids do.

00:02:57:23 - 00:03:29:16
Brenden Guy
So we were always forever losing. So, yeah, that's another thing to take into consideration. Okay, so that was number two. Number straight me would be and this one, you know, this one's obviously it's not specific to being a girl, dad. And it's and it's it's a it's a it's a common and popular one, but one that I think people can often overlook if they have a stroller but be any kind of baby carrier.

00:03:29:16 - 00:03:50:10
Brenden Guy
And any time you can put your baby in a carrier and wear them, it's it's so handy. You know, it saves you from having to just take them out in a stroll around the block to stop them from crying or you're trying to do the washing up or you're trying to help with chores around the house just so you can have your hands free.

00:03:50:10 - 00:04:05:19
Brenden Guy
I mean, and it saves and it saves you from having to hold them in awkward positions all the time, too. So I know people have said, Oh, I don't really need one of those. We're not to go places where I'm going to be wearing them that often. And actually, I actually I don't actually wear them out very often.

00:04:05:19 - 00:04:07:13
Brenden Guy
It's more in and around the house.

00:04:07:13 - 00:04:16:04
Matthew Krekeler
So, oh yeah, you can get a lot done laundry or mow the lawn or whatever. Like I've had my, my daughter strapped to my chest as I'm mowing the lawn.

00:04:16:17 - 00:04:40:05
Brenden Guy
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know, it's also one of those ones where people of a certain generation see dads wearing them and they they think, well, what's he why is he wearing that? That's silly. And you know what to buy for them. You know, they didn't if they didn't do that as as parents. I love it. I love I love the feeling of having my kid that close to me.

00:04:40:05 - 00:05:24:17
Brenden Guy
I get that know the bond that mothers always talk about holding their kids close to their chest. Like you really get a sense of that and it's something that you don't want to miss out on. I mean, just practically speaking, it's very helpful, but also just as a bonding bonding experience to yeah. Yeah, there's that sense of security too, for them. Like they're so close to you. Like we've went, we've been hiking with our girls, and I take the baby, like, on me and I know, like, even though, like, it can be kind of slippery or whatever, like, depending on where we're hiking, it's like, no matter what, I've got her right here and she's safe and she knows that she's safe and I'd rather have her right there than.

00:05:25:05 - 00:05:29:18
Matthew Krekeler
Yeah, then trust like, like anyone else hold her.

00:05:29:18 - 00:05:30:14
Brenden Guy
Yeah, for sure.

00:05:32:14 - 00:05:47:19
Matthew Krekeler
Awesome. Well, yeah. Thank you so much. Those are great advice.

00:05:48:04 - 00:06:08:06
Matthew Krekeler
